Throughout her career, Lois developed fund-raising capacity and significantly increased corporate and individual support for associations and other non-profits. She has led boards and staff in future visioning, and advised on board development, governance, and policy creation and implementation.


In her spare time, Lois practices the Korean martial art of taekwondo. She is a 6th degree black belt, instructor, coach, and international referee.

Most recently, she was Executive Director of the American Academy of Optometry and the American Academy of Optometry Foundation for more than two decades. At the Academy, Lois worked with boards, members, and staff to grow membership by 160%, annual meeting attendance by 188%, and assets by more than 900%!
